Dearly departed Blake Painter of The Deadliest Catch has been found dead aged 38 in Oregon law enforcement do not suspect foul play

Painter, who was captain on the second and third season of the show, was found dead at his home in OR on Friday.

His body was found Friday after a friend called the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office after not hearing from him for days.

Police discovered substances and prescription pills inside Painter's home, but it's unclear whether they contributed to his death, TMZ reports.

"From the District Attorney's perspective our main concern was whether there was foul play", DA Joshua Marquis told Radar exclusively.

Law enforcement told the celebrity news site the captain's body was discovered Friday in his OR home after a friend reportedly became concerned because he had not heard from him for a few days. The cause of death is unknown at this time.

The local newspaper, The Daily Astorian, reported in January that Painter was arrested by Astoria police after an officer allegedly saw Painter smoking heroin while driving.

A spokesperson with the Clastop County Sheriff's office says Painter's body was discovered by friends in his OR residence on Friday.

Painter, an OR native, featured in the second and third seasons of Deadliest Catch, now in its 14th season. The "Deadliest Catch" star was only 38. A crab fisherman, Painter was the captain of the F/V Maverick on the show.
