The former is made up of people who were caught up the attack past year, while the latter saw their post-attack tribute - a version of Ariana Grande's My Everything - go viral and earn them the chance to perform with the star at the One Love Manchester concert.

They swiftly organised the One Love Manchester benefit concert that raised a whopping $12 million for the cause, which went straight to the victims and their families. "I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day".

U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May and Prince William joined hundreds of people at Manchester Cathedral to honor victims of the attack at a memorial service. It has now been a year since the attack, but the singer says that it is "still so heavy on [her] heart".

The 24-year-old singer took to social media to send her love and warmth to the people in London through a series of tweets.

One note cited US Episcopal Bishop Michael Curry's sermon at Saturday's royal wedding: "As a clever bishop said 'there is power in love'".

England striker Marcus Rashford has penned a tribute to his home city of Manchester on the anniversary of the Arena bombing.

The crowd also heard from some of those singing, including two members of the A City United Choir, a one-off coming together of the signing groups attached to the city's Premier League football teams.

Later, thousands of people - including a choir of attack survivors - gathered for a concert and sing-song in the city's Albert Square.

On the altar stood 22 lit candles, made from the wax of thousands of candles left in the city's St. Ann's Square in the days after the attack. He shared a Bible reading during the memorial service; the passage from the First Epistle to the Corinthians was read at the funeral of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, some 20 years ago.

"All our thoughts today are with those who lost their loved ones and best friends", said Lord Mayor June Hitchen before the performances began, also paying tribute those who suffered psychological trauma and the emergency services which responded to the bombing - to massive applause from the crowd.

"We're stronger than we were, we're more together and there is a more palpable sense of community spirit, but underneath the scars are very real and they're very deep", he said.

Later, thousands of people - including a choir of survivors - are due to gather for a concert and sing-song in St. Ann's Square.

At 10.31 p.m. local time, church and city hall bells will ring out from buildings across the city center to mark the moment of the attack. Instead 100 pedestrians and a handful of transport police who rushed to the scene improvised, with T-shirts for tourniquets and crush barriers for stretchers.
