Rodgers is now suing Kelly for "sexual battery" and "willfully, deliberately and maliciously" infecting her with herpes.

Faith Rodgers says in the suit filed Monday in NY that she met Kelly about a year ago after a concert in San Antonio, Texas.

Rodgers claims that she continued her relationship with Keller for roughly a year, during which he "routinely engaged in intimidation, mental, verbal and sexual abuse, during and after sexual contact". His multiple chart-topping hits include "Bump N' Grind" and "I Believe I Can Fly".

Rodgers said that Kelly flew her to NY to attend a show and that she "submitted" to sex when he visited her hotel room.

In recent months, R Kelly has faced numerous sexual misconduct allegations by former girlfriends.

On May 10, streaming service Spotify said it had removed the singer's music from its editorial playlists.

Noting the various other similar accusations that have been made against the musician, the lawsuit says: "Unfortunately, the facts and background of this case are not unique".

R. Kelly faces lawsuit from woman who alleges he hid sexually transmitted disease. Kelly is accused of engaging in the longterm sexual and emotional abuse of a female fan that regularly included the woman being punished for not sexually satisfying the singer.

R Kelly has not yet responded to Faith's allegations. I just was not ready for sex, ' she claims. The organization urged further investigation into the singer's behaviour, which has come under closer scrutiny over the previous year in wake of the #MeToo movement, as women have come forward to accuse him of everything from sexual coercion to physical abuse.

"It's not like all the time he was just, you know, this devious person".

Two years later, Tiffany Hawkins filed suit against him, as well as his record, publishing and management companies, claiming personal injuries and emotional damage arising from what she alleged was a sexual relationship she had with Kelly, which she said began when she was 15 and ended when she was 18. In 2008, he was acquitted on child pornography charges. It was there, she says, the 51-year-old coaxed her into having sex with him.

The lawsuit claims Evans was clean before sleeping with R Kelly and that she only learned he was infected when allegations became public earlier this year.
