Hutchinson congratulated his girlfriend in a tweet that excitedly proclaimed, "MY GIRLFRIEND WON AMERICAN IDOL!".

Jimmy Kimmel even got into the excitement, doing a "Where Are They Now" segment with on his late night show with former Idol contestants.

"Well, you know, Maddie's like my best pal".

"So, the two of them are a couple, and they're competing for the title". The two appeared very sweet and encouraging to one another, and the three judges were all but swooning at the news that Caleb and Maddie had made a love connection... but there can be only one American Idol per season. With the reality singing show came some very close friends that Maddie says will be lifelong buddies. She considers herself blessed and is very grateful for everything and everyone who has come into her life, especially her guy. Thank you to all of America for believing in me when I didn't even believe in myself. I love you (heart emoticon)'.

"The thing is I remember a year ago I was playing in a coffee shop for six people, and I just, I wanted to give up", she recalled. "I've known her since the beginning of Hollywood Week, and you know, she, uh - she actually happens to be my girlfriend".
