Zombies Mode Confirmed for Call of Duty Black Ops 4

All things considered, while Zombies will surely be a high point for many Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 fans, a rumored battle royale mode could wind up usurping the undead-heavy feature in popularity.

The tweet, which you can see below, teases an E3 Coliseum panel about the history of Zombies mode, which will be open to any E3 attendees and livestreamed to Facebook.

The great detail of the invitation is in the mention of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies mode, as it is assured that the Treyarch members that will participate in the session, will talk about the popular game mode in its version for the next title. Not only has the mode been so popular that it has been included in the past three releases (including WWII and Infinite Warfare) but also developer Treyarch started the whole phenomenon with the inclusion of Nazi Zombies in 2008's Call of Duty: World at War - the precursor to the Black Ops story arc.

Seems the organisers jumped the gun a bit, though it is hardly unforgivable. The game is also reportedly launching on Blizzard's Battle.net.

Elsewhere, Activision big cheese Coddy Johnson revealed during its recent Q1 earnings call (via Seeking Alpha) that the Black Ops series has notched up some 200 million players in the past eight years, who have in turn played billions of hours worth of matches.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will arrive on October 12 to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 reveal takes place Thursday, May 17.
