Kim Jong Un agrees to meet Trump at demilitarized zone

South Korea's presidential office said on Wednesday the issue of U.S. troops stationed in the South is unrelated to any future peace treaty with North Korea and is a matter regarding Seoul's alliance with Washington, Reuters reports.

The South Korean president had also said in January that Trump deserved a "big credit" for making the Korean talks possible.

Kim and Moon made history last week when they met on the dividing line between the two countries, agreeing to work on a peace deal and complete denuclearization of the North.

Mr Trump wants to hold it by late this month or early next month.

With this in hand, the leaders of the DPRK and South Korea are now ready to sit down and discuss with the USA how to end the war crisis that has existed for so long.

Trump also said that he "may" be visiting Jerusalem for the opening of the new American embassy there.

For sure, Trump and Kim are expected to have quite different views on the meaning of "denuclearization".

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has asked the United Nations to help verify North Korea's planned shutdown of its nuclear test site, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said Tuesday.

"India supports all efforts to bring about peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and diplomacy", said MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.

The progressive dialogue between Kim and Moon at Peace House in the Korean buffer village last week has been commended by Guterres, with the United Nations head labelling the meeting a "truly historic summit". Nevertheless, the Chinese continue their close supervision of North Korea. Some analysts are speculating that Kim instead may want to see Trump in Panmungak, the building on the North Korean side facing Freedom House on the South Korean side.

"I just think that president Moon was very nice when he suggested it", Trump said.

Trump faces tremendous pressure, however, from the other signatories, including all the four other members of the U.N. Security Council - Britain, China, France and Russian Federation - plus Germany and the European Union, to go along with the deal. South Korea's broadcasts emphasize their prosperity, while North Korea's broadcasts are deeply critical of South Korea's government policy. A week before the summit with Moon, Kim also declared that his regime was giving up nuclear tests and shut down its nuclear site.

"Now the President we have now is not mushy", Inhofe pointed out.

Applying the conclusions in the Wilson Center report to the current situation, where Beijing has replaced Moscow as Pyongyang's sponsor, the North Koreans retain their own goals for reunification and are not simply puppets. It's the duty of those of us in the U.S.to struggle to get the ruling class here to accept the reality and abandon their efforts to sabotage the prospects for peace in Korea.
