It was a trade that shocked the league a bit, but one that the Cowboys definitely needed to make.

Tavon Austin is finally on the move. Austin bet on himself by redoing his deal, but the Rams didn't see enough value to keep him around.

The 5-foot-8, 180-pound Austin brings much needed speed to the Cowboys attack, but he has been an enigma so far in the National Football League after being selected eighth overall out of West Virginia in 2013. He's also contributed with 1,238 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. He had his most productive season in 2016, when he posted 509 yards and three touchdowns receiving while contributing on special teams as a returner.

No early-round wide receiver picks.

Are the Dallas Cowboys any closer to replacing Dez Bryant? It remains to be seen if Austin will actually bring that to the table in 2018.

His most prolific season to date came in 2015, when he managed 907 yards from scrimmage, 434 of which came on carries out of the backfield.

Austin, drafted eighth overall in 2013, has made 194 catches for 1,689 yards and 12 touchdowns in his five-year National Football League career, but he is not expected to act as a direct replacement for the departed Dez Bryant out wide.
