He has not taken a new job since leaving previous year, with Chelsea also seen as potential suitors if Antonio Conte leaves at the end of the season.

Still, Wenger, who today revealed it was not his decision to step down from his role as manager this summer, says his team has "a special mental quality".

Earlier, had reported how Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger explained that the chances of star midfielder Mohamed Elneny to return to action again this season are very slim.

Wenger's initial comments appeared to add weight to reports that his decision to leave after 22 years at the club was not necessarily mutual. "For the rest, I have spoken about it already".

Elneny was carried off on a stretcher on the stroke of half-time during Sunday's 4-1 win over West Ham and has suffered an ankle ligament injury.

"I think he will be available for Egypt at the World Cup but not anymore for Arsenal".

Arsene Wenger stated clearly that the Egypt global will miss the Gunners' Europa League semi final clash against Atletico Madrid with the first leg on Thursday, April 26. "I will continue to work, that is for sure", the 68-year-old said.

Asked if he was sure that he was doing the right thing, Wenger said: "You are never sure if you do the right thing. At the moment, I'm not ready to commit to anything else than to give my best for Arsenal football club".

"We are both coaches and it is very hard to stay at this level as you're always competing and putting yourself on the line".

Wenger last week said his former captain Patrick Vieira, often linked with the job, has the "potential" to become Arsenal manager one day.
