"Some of our party members would have filed nominations without the B form as rebels or will be contesting as Independents if they are rejected as official candidates during the scrutiny by the EC", Congress spokesperson B.K. Chandrashekar told IANS here.

The BJP could more than double its tally to 89 in the 224 seat assembly in May's state election, but fall two seats short of what India's main opposition Congress party, which governs the state, is likely to get, according to the opinion poll by TV station Times Now and VotersMood Research aired late on Monday.

Indirectly hitting out at Sonia Gandhi, the BJP asked Siddaramaiah what he had to say about occupants of 10, Janpath, when he is calling Modi and Adityanath North Indian imports.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, she said that "Congress government is facing various allegations such as corruption at various levels and dynastic policy. As the high command directed me to contest from north Karnataka, I'm contesting from here".

After the BJP formed Government in the Himalayan State, massive reconstruction work started to make a "different and modern Kedarpuri" as per the intention of PM Modi who has made it a point to visit the temple located at an elevation of about 11000 feet in the lofty Garhwal Himalayas twice a year ago.

"Was he scared of defeat?" he questioned. "So I'm contesting", he added.

BJP has chose to make Badami tough for Siddaramaiah and, in a last minute move, the party announced Sriramulu as its candidate.

Meanwhile, in Mysuru, the BJP central leadership finally had its way with party State president B.S. Yeddyurappa's son B.Y.Vijayendra making way for an ordinary party worker to contest as party candidate from the high profile Varuna constituency in Mysuru.

Of the 244 candidates of the Congress, only 15 are women.

A prominent ST leader of BJP in the state, Sriramulu also offered prayers to Banashankari, the deity of Chalukya Empire, before filing his nomination.

As far as the choice for the chief ministerial post is concerned, Siddaramaiah leads the race with more than 46 per cent respondents voting for him.

He asserted that the BJP was strong in Badami and he would win.
